Freeing up Dynamics 365 log storage
When looking to free up file storage capacity, there are two options to consider:
1 – Delete audit logs
Warning
Once audit data is deleted, you will lose the change history covered by the period of the deleted log recordAlthough record auditing is very useful in tracking changes to key business data, these audit records can quickly consume available log storage capacity. By removing some of the oldest logs, you can free up space while retaining the more recent changes.
- In the affected environment, navigate to Settings > Auditing > Audit Log Management (note: there is currently no way to get to this page via the Power Platform Admin Center – you will have to access your environment and choose Advanced Settings from the upper-right menu.
- Identify the oldest log file, select it and click Delete Logs.
Only the oldest log file can be deleted, so if you need to clear more log file data, simply repeat the above process.
2 – Delete plug-in trace logs using a bulk deletion job
Tracing is used troubleshoot plugins or custom workflow activities. When tracing is enabled, Plugin Trace Log records are created that help to identify and correct issues. Once troubleshooting is complete, tracing can be turned off and the trace log records deleted.

- In the menu bar, choose New. This launches the Bulk Deletion Wizard.
- Choose Next.
- In the Look for list, select Plug-In Trace Logs.
- In the search criteria area, add criteria similar to the following:
Created On – Older Than X Months – 1 (amend this as required if you need to keep these trace logs for longer)
