Previously referred to as a field or attribute, columns define the individual data items that can be used to store information in a table.
In the Microsoft Dataverse, there is a wide range of column types available, allowing business data to be captured in the format best suited to its use. These include:
- Text, Multiline Text & Text Area – capture varying lengths of text
- Floating Point & Decimal – capture numeric values with varying degrees of precision
- File – upload a file against a table row
- Image
- Currency – store monetary data
- Lookup – link one row to another
- Choice & Choices – choose one or more options from a pre-defined list of values
